Pool Admission
- ALL members must check in upon arrival. You must identify yourself to the guard on duty so you can be verified in the database.
- There are no restrictions to how many times a member can come to the pool.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver aged 15 or older.
- Members 12 years old and older may be at the pool unaccompanied.
- There will be occasional late openings/early closings during swim team season. See posted hours on the website and in the weekly newsletter.
- Members are expected to exit the property at closing time. They will be asked to leave the bathrooms promptly at closing time.
Recreational Swim
- Adult-only swim (16+) will occur during the last 15 minutes of every hour. Children younger than 16 years of age must completely vacate the pool.
- All swimmers must pass a swimming test before using the diving board. Be prepared to retake the test if asked to do so by a guard.
- Parents are responsible for monitoring their children and may not be more than an arm’s length apart in the pool if a child cannot swim.
- The diving board will be open but may be closed for games in the well, at lifeguards’ discretion.
- Please walk, do not run, on the pool deck.
- Noodles/floats are NOT allowed in the water. Kickboards are allowed for lap swimming.
Inclement Weather Policy
- Lifeguards will close the pool if there is thunder and/or lightning. Members must exit the facility and may wait in their car until the pool reopens. Members are not allowed on the pool grounds. Members cannot wait under the covered areas unless absolutely necessary. Note that the pool will remain closed for 30 minutes after thunder/lightning is detected. The time will restart for each subsequent occurrence.
- Expect a passing thunderstorm and plan for its possibility. Discuss contingency plans with children if the pool is closed when they are there unaccompanied. Remember, parents are responsible for the safety of their children and guards are not responsible for your child when the pool is closed. Please pick your child up promptly in the event of a closure.
Lap Swim/Swim Lessons
-
Lap swimming is available during recreational swimming hours when the pool is open. The pool is sometimes closed for swim meets or other events, so please check the events calendar for up-to-date events scheduling.
-
Lap swimming will NOT be available during afternoon swim practice times:
-
May 26-June 17 – Mondays through Fridays 4:15-6:30pm (Starting June 9th, this is extended to 7pm on Mondays and Thursdays)June 18-July 17 – Mondays through Thursdays 4:30-6:30pm
-
- The total number of lanes at any given time is dependent on the total number of swimmers in the pool.
- Please limit your time lap swimming to NO MORE than 30 minutes.
- Swimmers are encouraged to join lanes with other swimmers who swim at a similar speed.
- The lane closest to the wall will be designated for slower swimmers. When two or more lanes are in the pool, those should be used by faster swimmers.
- Lessons are offered by individual instructors, not through the pool. There is a binder of possible instructors at the entrance.
- Independent swim lessons may not take place in the lap lanes, unless they are empty. Lap lane swimmers have priority over swim lessons.

Pool Temperatures
Research indicates that the optimal range for pool temperatures is between 78°F and 82°F (26°C and 28°C) to keep the majority of swimmers comfortable. These temperatures are low enough to prevent bacteria from growing, but also warm enough to take the chill off.” We work to meet that range—and the guards will post the pool temperature daily.
It is important to note that it is easier to warm a pool up than to cool overheated water. Early in the season, the heaters are often used as overnight temperatures are significantly lower than daytime temperatures. As summer progresses, there is less of a difference between warm daytime and overnight temperatures, and heater use is unnecessary. A perception of lower water temperature is unavoidable when there’s no sun. And, we can’t heat the pool to compensate.
