Post-Zoom Q&A Series (1 of 3): Daleview’s Dues v. Other Pools
Daleview Members & Community,
Thank you so much to all who attended the Zoom Presentation last week or watched the recording, and to all who have asked great and important questions. Your thoughtfulness and commitment to the pool and its future have been so evident throughout this process, and we are all very grateful for the high level of engagement.
From the beginning of this work last summer, our focus has been on making sure that everyone is heard in this process. Since the Zoom presentation, we have seen a few key themes in the questions we’ve received. We wanted to reach back out to you all with clarifications and updates on our progress in areas we don’t yet have complete answers.
Question: I am concerned about what this will do to the pool’s dues, especially when combined with the assessments and other costs. How do Daleview’s costs compare to other pools in our area, and other pools that have been renovated?
At 325 corporate members, Daleview’s membership is one of the smallest pool memberships in the region. Practically speaking, this means that pool costs and assessments are distributed over a smaller membership than other pools we are comparing ourselves against. With this being the case, Daleview’s dues have ranked very favorably when compared to other area pools. Our current dues fall in the middle of the pack for our area. After surveying the other community pools in the area, we found that pools that had completed significant upgrades or renovations all charge more than Daleview, as do many other pools that have not been renovated. In fact, the pools that have completed their renovations in the past five or so years (Seven Locks, Wildwood, Adelphi, and others) all have dues of $1,000+. After contemplated dues increases in 2026 and 2027, Daleview’s top family dues level is expected to be $990.
The table below compares Daleview’s current and projected future dues to other pools in our area, as well as other pools that have been renovated recently. Please note that the table lists pools in descending order of average dues (the average of all dues levels). Lastly, the table does not include any dues increases for 2026 or 2027 for any other pool – so keep in mind that while Daleview’s dues may increase, other pools’ dues will likely increase as well.
