Montgomery County Swim League
Daleview is one of nearly 100 neighborhood and community pools in the County that belongs to the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL). The purpose of MCSL is:
To encourage informal, friendly team competition at the neighborhood pool level and to provide young people with the opportunity to participate in team competition during the summer, within a fair and wholesome environment, in order to develop athletic skills, encourage sportsmanship and team work, and foster an appreciation of the relationship between effort and success.
MCSL is governed by a board of directors and governing body made up of one official representative from each team in the League (often referred to as the Team Rep). Each team Rep has a vote at league meetings. The League also runs clinics for officials.
Each year, the MCSL produces and distributes the MCSL Handbook, which is used by all teams in the League. The MCSL Handbook includes: a directory of all MCSL member pools with contact and staff information; MCSL rules of competition for officials and swim meets; MCSL records, current qualifying times, and detailed results from the previous season.
Swimmers and parents consult the handbook throughout the season and it is not unusual for swimmers to be familiar with league records and the times of swimmers in their age groups from other teams.
